Holly Haines is a New Zealand artist currently based in Edinburgh. She has spent two years studying at the Edinburgh Atelier of Fine Art learning classical drawing and painting techniques, alongside exhibiting in an Auckland based gallery in New Zealand. Inspired by the natural beauty in New Zealand, Holly is often drawn to landscapes and sky scenes as a subject matter.
Holly works mainly in oils and enjoys the depth of colour and texture that can be achieved using this medium. ‘My main inspirations for painting are light, colour and atmosphere. I aim to use these elements as a means of creating an integral connection with the subject’.
