Dot walker has drawn and painted since early childhood and continued and after her initial career in A&E nursing she has been able to dedicate the last 20 years to painting.
She is inspired by the weather and ever-changing light of the highlands and uses a vivid palette and a range of media to describe the atmosphere of the great outdoors in all seasons.
“I have travelled and painted in many beautiful parts of the world, but the north of Scotland has a unique atmosphere and breath-taking light that plays on the land and water. I paint mainly in oils, using a vibrant palette and strong textures to try to convey the emotions that the landscape evokes in me. I often paint and sketch outdoors with the help of two enthusiastic spaniels.”
